Kevin and Andrew Heath are the men behind Western Bay Bricklayers Ltd.
How it all began
After a 16 year career with Telecom Kevin embarked on a career change and decided on bricklaying. He trained under the wing of Chris Jeffery Bricklaying and in December 1993 qualified while achieving the highest score in trade certificate theory and also receiving a silver trowel award for best overall results in practical tests during his apprenticeship.
He was then employed by Brick Block construction as a foreman which saw him responsible for the construction of Crockford House, Greerton, the Greerton Police Station and 1st Ave Mazda in Tauranga.
Mid 1994 saw the start of Kevin Heath Bricklayer Ltd (now Western Bay Bricklayers Ltd) initially focusing on residential work and more recently branching into the commercial market. Recent successes include the recladding of Te Akau Ki School, Papamoa and Apartment blocks at the Bob Owen Retirement Village in Bethlehem.
